Hello and thanks for visiting our website. We are a family of four from Greater Manchester who have been caravanning for more than 10 years. This website has been created to document all the problems we have had with our latest caravan.
We purchased our Bailey Unicorn Almeria caravan BRAND NEW in August 2011 from Campbells Caravans Lostock Hall, Preston and it has been the subject of numerous faults and problems since our first holiday, including a damp floor.
11th Apr 2014 : At last some good service - Campbells collected the caravan at 8am and returned it at 5pm with all the factory faults fixed - thanks to the staff at the Service Centre.
9th Apr 2014 : Collected the caravan from Campbells Caravans Service Centre after the damp floor repair at the Bailey factory in Bristol.
UNBELIEVABLE : Hole in shower, large gap under shower door, delaminated shower door not replaced, electrical wires hanging outside from inside, alarm not working (but Tracker triggered after leaving Campbells), damaged exterior paintwork, damaged interior furniture.
21st Feb 2014 : Just missed our first February half term caravan holiday in 10 years!
12th Feb 2014 : Bailey Customer Services in Bristol have now acknowledged our email.
6th Feb 2014 : Half a day off work to collect the caravan from storage, empty the caravan of everything and a 38 mile round trip to drop the caravan off at Campbells Service Centre in Preston - all at our expense due to Bailey faults.
3rd Feb 2014 : Telephoned the main Bailey switchboard in Bristol and asked for Customer Services - was told the Customer Services Department DO NOT take telephone calls and are only contactable by email, explained I had already emailed - the lady on the switchboard said she "would go down straight away and chase it up".
30th Jan 2014 : Emailed Bailey Customer Services with all the issues we have had since we purchased the Bailey Unicorn Almeria including the questions :-
What Bailey will do to guarantee that the replacement bathroom door (the 4th to be fitted) will not delaminate again?
Were we sold a new caravan with a damp floor?
28th Jan 2014 : The Almeria caravan is due to go back to Bailey Caravans in Bristol w/c 10th February 2014 for a new floor due to damp - Campbells Caravans have confirmed with Bailey of Bristol that the caravan must be completed and dispatched from them by the 4th April 2014 - in time for our 2 week family holiday to Disneyland Paris booked for Easter.
27th Jan 2014 : We are waiting for our 4th bathroom door (which also acts as a shower door) to be fitted due to delamination. Campbells Caravans in Lostock Hall, Preston have been in contact with Bailey in Bristol who "believe that the extra moisture in the floor has led to the door delaminating". The first door delaminated on our first holiday in the caravan - 2 weeks after buying the new caravan!
A selection of photo's showing the delaminating bathroom doors and some of the other Bailey caravan faults and problems are displayed below :-
